I Love Gadgets and Idea That Make Things Easier
I love gadgets and pretty much any little simple item designed to make tasks easier. Much of the time the little items or ideas we see are made to solve a problem that really isn’t a problem, but every so often one comes around that is simple and is a “10″ on the Palm-to-Forehead scale. When you see it for the first time you literally hear Homer Simpson’s “Doh” in your mind. When I saw the Scuba Tank Carrier for the very first time, that’s exactly what I heard.
Tanks have to be the single most bothersome piece of our scuba equipment to deal with. They are heavy, cumbersome, and just plain inconvenient to lug around. If a diver is tall enough they can carry them by the knob on the valve. This method of carrying tanks is typically uncomfortable as it doesn’t take long for the valve’s on/off knob to wear on the fingers or palms of your hands. Other times you’ll see the diver with tanks propped upon their shoulder. As cool as this looks to non-divers watching them pass by, this method of tank portage isn’t any more comfortable with the heavy tank resting on top of the collar bone. I actually met a guy who claimed to have broken his collar bone one day by tossing his tank upon his shoulder to carry this way. Ouch!!!
The Scuba Tank Carrier is a welcome change to the unpleasant hassle of carrying your cylinders from the car to the shop, dive site or boat. Featuring a molded, easy to grip handle situated between 2 adjustable straps designed to fit any size cylinder, the Scuba Tank Carrier allows the diver to carry their cylinders conveniently and comfortably like a briefcase. The thick nylon webbed straps are designed for durability and ensure your tank carrier will offer many years of trusty service. After just one use, most any diver will find this is a must-have item in their dive kit from that point on!
